Live a Life that Inspires
I'm so excited, but equally nervous and terrified of this launch. I've been so hesitant to launch this blog, I've actually been wanting to since 2014 but due to chronic lyme.. my brain just hasn't been working well enough. I couldn't (and still struggle to) really form sentences in a coherent way and even when I can.. the truth is, I've always been too afraid. Afraid of putting myself out there only to be judged. This is something that I've feared my entire life and something I still have to talk myself through. But, someone I admire sent me a note recently that hit a chord.
Here's what it said:
Our Greatest Fear - by Marianne Williamson
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to manifest the glory that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
I received this on a day where I was feeling extremely down and anxious. Instantly I knew it was a message that I was meant to hear. I also heard something from another person I admire that went a little like this, "what's stopping you from sharing your story with the world? If you're afraid someone who is following you will read and judge what you put out there... then that person shouldn't be following you. That's all. Simple as that."
That couldn't be more on point, no matter how hard you try, you will never appeal to everyone. There will always be someone who will try and tear you down, but on the same note.. there will always be a much larger group of supporters who will be truly inspired by your message. So what, you're going to let that one percent prevent you from serving the other 99%?! This is what I am constantly telling myself now, and today, I'm finally putting my big girl panties on and just going for it.
So here we are, and I'm going to be 100% real with you right now.
My goal is to live a life that inspires others. My hope with this blog is that I can help share pieces of my life with you that prove no matter what your situation is, you can always find a silver lining.
If nothing else, I hope when you read these articles, you're inspired to never, ever give up.
I plan on writing about the obstacles I face daily, tips for living (and chasing your dreams) with a chronic illness, organic living tips and recipes, random ramblings that just come to me and most exciting, I'll be featuring badass people who continually inspire me.
If you have any specific topics/questions/etc that you would like me to write about, please share in the comments below. This is all very new and pretty terrifying for me so I'd love to hear what you actually want to read about so I can best serve YOU.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I'm so excited that you've chosen to tune in and join me in my journey to live my truth and continue to try and inspire as many people as I can.
